Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced in the Spring 2021 Budget the extension to Stamp Duty Holiday – what this means to a home buyer is if you are buying a property up to the value of £500,000 you will not pay any stamp duty if your purchase is completed by 30th June; if you are buying a property valued at £250,000 you will not pay any stamp duty until the end of September; and the usual threshold of £125,000 will return on the 1st October.
